install win7 hp 32bit on H-P vista pc - to make it generic

4mb ram 650 gb hd 2.4mhz processor. Can I delete ALL the H-P proprietary software safely? Using Win7HomePrem full dvd (not just upgrade). A good friend's pc.

Hello Ted, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Sure you can. Here you go. :)

Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7

    Hope this helps,

You can use the Home Premium DVD you have (although the one in the tutorial may be more recent with SP1 and hotfixes) but I would use the Product Key on COA sticker to get it's $100+ value. You're entitled to use that key installed however you want on that machine for it's life.

The reason I add this is because you referred to your disk as a full disk so I wanted to save you using a full retail key if that's what you meant. Use it elsewhere and save all that money. And the installers are all the same since it is the key which determines which version will activate.

Sorry, but the H-P pc has VISTA on it - not Win7 - so oem reinstall isn't relevant

The steps are the same, particularly since you want to drop the HP bloatware for which there are special notes in the tutorial.

The tutorial is based on helping countless thousands of Clean Reinstalls here for the purpose of getting rid of the factory bloatware which you said is your goal. Following the steps closely to install and maintain Win7 will assure perfect performance.
