Did your PC come with a Windows installation and a Certificate of Authenticity sticker?

If you have a Windows disk, is it OEM, Retail, burned, borrowed, or what?

You can easily download a Windows ISO from mydigitallife.info and burn it to a disk and then install from that disk.

But you would need a 25 character Product Key to activate the installation. I don't know if you have such a key.

You don't need your friend's disc if you have a good Product Key.

you may have to add additional drivers from a usb stick when installing windows 7 to detect your drive. also make sure you have the right setting in your bios for your hdd controller. I heard AHCI is good for solid state IDE for most hard disks. Of course if windows isn't seeing your disk at all then check to make sure your bios is. if all the settings are right and the bios isn't seeing it, then it may be a hardware issue with the drive or wiring to the drive.

P.S. windows xp will blue screen if you have it set to AHCI in the bios.

How do you mean? You did a fresh install... so there weren't any drivers whatsoever.

Do you mean you need some special drivers to let win7 install work?
