New components - BSOD flashes for 1 second - booting from usb

    Hi all

I recently upgraded my CPU, PSU, RAM and motherboard and kept my original hard drive and dvd drive which are about 8 years old - still working though. I have been told that I am getting the error as by keeping the original hard drive it would require a clean install of windows. I plan to use windows7-usb-dvd tool to place my windows.iso onto a usb stick.

My question is, when I boot from the usb stick will I be able to choose my old hard drive to install the windows too. Also can anyone tell me if my plan will work?

    Thanks

If Win7 won't start on the new HD, you needed to SysPrep to move HD to another computer on the old hardware, use Acronis True Image with Universal Restore to re-image while adjusting to hardware changes, or find a Paragon Adaptive Restore CD to do this from the new hardware.

To Clean Install Windows 7 I would wipe the HD first with Diskpart Clean Command after moving any data off of it that you need. Copy & Paste - in Windows Recovery Console
