Guys, the OP's thread is not the United Nations - save it for the chillout room please.
Cannman, I suggest you check in device manager for any exclamation points or yellow triangles beside any devices.
I suspect you may not have your chipset drivers installed. This would go towards explaining your USB, keyboard, BSoD's and printer problems.
Have you run Windows Update to let it find updated drivers for devices? ie your printer
Canman, check if your drivers and BIOS are up to date. HP does not have any Win7 drivers yet, the last Vista 64 BIOS is version 5.32 from 12/2008 (Select software and drivers HP Pavilion Media Center m8430f Desktop PC - HP Customer Care (United States - English))
Asus does not support your board directly since it is OEM, I checked if they had any BIOS updates, but they don't list the IPIBL-LB. You might want to check their site for a similar board and use those drivers, they have new Win7x64 drivers available. ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Support-
HP does not have any chipset drivers, but the board uses a Intel G33 chipset, and Intel has an update, you can find it here: Download Search Results
Did you add the GeForce 8500GT? The original specs call for Integrated graphics using Intel GMA 3100. If you do have a NVidia board, you want to visit Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers . Click on Option 2 to detect your drivers and it will tell you what the latest updates are
If you have the intel graphics you might also want to run their driver detection tool as well, it might tell you if something else is missing: Intel® Driver Update Utility for graphics drivers - Check for the latest driver
That is all I can think of right now. Let us know how it works
Hi everyone,
This will be my last official post on my Win 7 OS, I am downgrading to Vista 64 bit. Over the past 24 hours I have experienced several other problem; blue screen twice once stating "bad pool driver" and other "bugcode usb driver." I am exhausted trying to figure this out, at least until the official roll-out where I can find support for my components. I am getting way too behind in my work and need to stop the hemorrhaging.
Thank you all very much - will add props to all that stopped by to help - but as I said it is just too complex for me to spend endless amounts of time trying to get it right. See you all in a few after I get an official Win 7 and a proper update to my BIOS.
Cheers from Bermuda!!
