A month ago some of the Office 2010 updates didn't update after trying repeatedly and then I changed the settings to ignore the updates. And a week ago Microsoft Security Essentials started acting weirdly. MSE would scan,download and then show -installing- and then it says network error. I ignored all these problems and then tried installing the Deep Fritz 13 Chess software which is a setup.msi file and it would install and the icon would appear on the desktop and then it stops at a point and later it show error message and it would simply roll back the installation. Today I updated Windows it worked fine. It has to be a problem with *.msi files installation.

How do I know that it is error 80070005?
I know this because MSE used to display this error. Now, I'm using AVG instead of MSE.
I tried search engines and found some work around but, it's confusing and couldn't get through.

Even this file shows the same error...

Method 1: Log in as an administrator

Method 2: Scan for malware
This error can also be caused if you have a malware infection. Open your anti-virus software and run a scan to detect and remove any detected malware. If you don't have an anti-virus program on your computer you can use the Microsoft Safety Scanner. To download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner, follow these steps:
Go to the Microsoft Safety Scanner site at: Microsoft Safety Scanner
Click Download Now.
If prompted, click Run. Follow the on-screen instructions to download and install the Microsoft Safety Scanner. When prompted, add a shortcut to the Microsoft Safety Scanner to your desktop.
From your desktop, double click the Microsoft Safety Scanner icon. When the Microsoft Safety Scanner program launches, click Scan Type, then click Full Scan, then click Next.
After the scan is complete, remove all detected malware entries , and try to install Windows Updates again.

I'm using the only Administrator account. And, the Microsoft Safety Scanner didn't run at all.

Uninstall Auslogics Boostspeed which is old-school optimizing software that only works against you in the first lean Windows, which does not tolerate such tweaking. It's likely the changes you made with it cannot now be rolled back but try if possible. Most such tweaking that causes these types of issues requires a Clean Reinstall. This is especially likely given the heavy load of other old-school crapware reflected in the old-school Hijack This log.

Uninstall Comodo crapware which causes problems we see here all the time, as does ancient Nero crapware.

I would uninstall all of the toolbars, updaters and search services which are spyware or worse. The only search you need is Google (or your own choice) built into the stable browser search box.

Run a Clean Boot as shown in Clean Up Factory Bloatware

Run a full scan with Malwarebytes.

Check your system file integrity with SFC -SCANNOW Command.

See if you can System Restore to before the problem began, then reinstall MSE. AVG is bloatware not recommended by anyone here. Avast is a second choice but losing favor here to MSE.

As a last resort run a Repair Install but even better would be to get a perfect Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 which steps are the same for retail. Then stick with only the steps given to maintain a lean mean Win7 install.
