    How to install Windows 7 purchased releas properly?

    Windows 7 RC1 7100 64bit / Vista Ultimate 64bit

    I did a clean installation of RC1 7100 months ago on my empty H: drive, runs flawlessly. I dual boot with Vista which is on my C: drive, hardly ever go there

    To install the purchased version in October, I assume I can;

    1) Replace the old C: drive with a new empty drive.

    2) Start up by booting on the Windows 7 DVD, and the process will format the new drive, install Windows 7, and name the drive 'C:'

    Am I correct? Advice on doing this transition properly will be much appreciated!

    I'd like to dual boot RC1 and the released version for a short period of time to use the RC1 installation as a resource to be sure I've reinstalled everything I wanted. Is this possible? - Thanks for your help, IM

    It should work the same as before. If the RC installed without a hitch...the Full Release shouldnt be any different.

    I have not done a Windows easy Transfer to a lesser version yet. So I am not sure if it will transfer your settings, files, programs, etc to the Prof. version, but it may be worth a shot with a brand new C: hard drive.

    Windows Easy Transfer - Transfer To & From Computers

    It has worked several times for me on several different computers 32 bit & 64 bit
