After Fresh Win7 64Bit Install Ssd is taking 42gigs

I just built a brand new computer and bought a new SSD 128gb so in windows its 119gigs. I installed windows 7 64bit and C: properties it says its using 42.9 gigs and if I select every folder in C: and click properties total is 16gb. I have show hidden folder on so nothing is hiding. Any Idea?

    thanks

i believe windows claims ~35 gigs on fresh install

you must turn features off to reclaim space, such as the restore point feature, you will never get it down to 16 gigs though. maybe ~30 gigs

I figured it out. Its pagefile and hibernate file.

I would not turn off either as paging file is required for good performance and hibernate is a perfected modern feature that makes walking away from your work no longer a concern. Set sleep at 30-45, Hibernate 1-2 hours, enable Hybrid sleep.

Install only programs to SSD while copying User folders data to a data HD, linked to Win7 via Library - Include a Folder - Windows 7 Forums.

If you start running out of space then uninstall lesser-used programs and reinstall to the HD.
