How am I supposed to download from Digital River if I didn't buy my...
legitimate copy of Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit from them?
This is from an old thread: Which version of Windows 7 is the DVD? If the DVD is damaged, which it sounds as if it is, then you can legitimately download a legitimate version of the same Windows 7 ISO - hint : do a search in Google using the terms "Digital River". I bought a DVD for a Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit upgrade, but my DVD has been stepped on and cracked. I have my product key. The person above made it sound like I can download the software from Digital River, even if I didn't originally buy it there, if I have a legitimate key. If not's not the case, is there another site that will let you dowload the exact same files that I can burn to DVD, in case I ever need to do a clean install? Thanks in advance! |

Hello Eatingscabs,
When you purchase Windows 7, you are actually just purchasing the product key number. You could use any 64-bit Windows 7 Ultimate installation disc to install it on your computer, then use your product key number to activate it. :) You can download an official 64-bit Windows 7 Ultimate ISO file below. Afterwards, you can create a bootable USB/DVD with the ISO file to install with. Official Windows 7 SP1 ISO from Digital River « My Digital Life Hope this helps, Shawn |
