Problem with mirroring of disks in Win 7 Ultimate
I just installed Win 7 Ultimate on a Dell Workstation T3400.
It has hardware RAID but this time I can not use that because Win 7 is installed on a separate SSD.
I have 2x 1TB Samsung HDD that I want to use. I want to install the RAID1 via Windows own software mirroring function.
But it doesn´t work properly........
The disks can be seen in the local Disk Management and they are not alokated.
When I right click on one of the disks and select "new mirrored volume" it works fine until the box comes up with the text "The action selected will convert the selected basic disks to dynamic disks" and so on ......
When I click YES then an error message saying "invalid package name" (translated from the swedish language in my Win OS
It's simply impossible to create a RAID1 (mirroring) in Win 7.
I have removed the drives and formatted them into a different computer with no better results.
Somebody who can help me??!!
Just to know my computer supports hardware RAID configuration but I want to use Windows software RAID.
