    Nede help creating a bootable USB with an inbuilt image

    Hi all,
    I work in a school where we have 300 identical machines. I have kidnapped a machine, reinstalled it (win7), updated it (Windows updates, flash, java etc.). It is now the perfect foundation machine.
    What I want to do is;
    Insert a USB drive
    Copy the whole setup onto a USB drive that also becomes bootable during the process.
    Use this drive (or its siblings) as a Master reformat tool.
    I have mucked about with Macrim reflect and Symantec ghost - none of which have been that easy or helpful. Maybe if someone could write a little idiot proof guide?
    Does anyone have any idea about a good, useful and easy to use application that I could use for this task. I'll send a box of snikkers if anyone Can help.
    Thanks for your time
    Tim (frustrated in Denmark)

    What do you mean a "master reformat tool".

    Do you want a windows installer, or repair boot media?

    Depending on what you are trying to do, you may want to sysprep a fully updated and tweaked installation, capture it to install.wim and include that on a bootable usb.

    on the regular install media, you just replace the \sources\install.wim file with your newly captured install.wim

    Optionally, you can also replace the \sources\boot.wim file with your own customized boot.wim

    Here is an example of customized bootable.wim (it is in a bootable .iso file )
