    Installing windows 7 pro

I installed windows 7 OEM home edition on a computer that I built and then upgraded to windows 7 Pro upgrade retail . I am now building a more powerful computer. The question is can I install the retail upgrade windows 7 pro on the new computer.

Not if you had to use the serial number for the upgrade. It can only be used on 1 pc

The OEM copy of home edition can't be used to qualify using a retail upgrade license on a new machine.

However, I suggest that you read this:

Doing a Clean Install with a Upgrade Windows 7 Version

There's a difference between the possible and what the license agreement permits. If you're asking about what's possible rather than what is legal, the answer is yes.

You'd need to decide you want to move the Pro Upgrade to the new hardware and uninstall it from the old by reinstalling the OEM version on the old hardware, or rolling back using a Factory Image of the OEM version.

Then you'd need a qualifying XP or Vista retail copy which doesn't need to be installed, just have it on hand to qualify for using the Pro Upgrade. Leave the Product Key blank when booting to install Pro, after install do Option 2 or 3 workaround in Clean Install with a Upgrade Windows 7 Version
