BOOTMGR image is corrupt. The system cannot boot.

    Hi Everybody,

just moved my uncles HDD to a SSD i finally got it to boot no problem and everything seems to be back to normal but a new issue has come up.

every 5th or 6th time i reboot it gives me the BOOTMGR image is corrupt. The system cannot boot error then after i restart go into the BIOS go save to CMOS the system boots as if nothing happened.

    so far i have tried:
    run startup repair
run bootrec.exe /fixmbr /fixboot and fix bcd commands x4 strangely it says everything is completed but shows 0 windows installs.
    reinstalled Win 7
    no virues
    no spyware

I'm thinking of maybe changing the CMOS battery. Would that help? and also when i go over there tomorrow going to check if the partition is active.

if anyone has any other ideas/solutions I'm more than happy to hear them
    Thanks

Wipe the HD of boot code using Diskpart Clean Command before Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 - steps are same for retail.

How did you transfer the image from HD to SSD?

If you have a WD or Seagate HD in the mix, you can use their free Acronis cloning/imaging suite to clone it over along with the Active flag, MBR and Track 1. If not try using free Macrium - Image your system.

Once it's cloned or imaged over, unplug the source HD, if Win7 doesnt' boot mark it's 100mb SysReserved (preferred if you have it) or Win7 partition Active then run Startup Repair - Run 3 Separate Times.

If this fails then try wiping the SSD with Diskpart Clean Command before applying the image.
