    Install Windows that won't install

Error: Windows could not complete the installation. To install Windows on this computer, restart installation.

Then it gives me the option to select ok, but when I do, it will keep repeating itself. The pc will not do anything else. I have tried F2 and selecting some options, but its still the same thing. I guess what I am trying to say, its that it does nothing else but repeat itself. I do not know what else to try.

What is the exact model of your Gateway computer? How are you installing Windows - from DVD, from USB flash drive? Are you trying to install Windows 7 Starter?

How did you create the bootable USB flash drive? How did it fail?

I created the bootable USB drive about 1 1/2 yr ago. and there was not much of any difference from then to now. I connected the USB on my other pc and its showing stuff that was not on my netbook. I am thinking that my backup USB got deleted and someone else put their crap on there. so now i have nothing. Do you think there would be another way of reinstalling? like wouldn't windows normally not uninstall all the way? Wouldn't it have Windows installed even at factory settings? I've done this to this netbook twice but like I said, the one time I don't backup.....

Did your netbook come with a restore partition? That would be the easiest and fastest way to get back up and running.

What do you mean when the usb flash drive shows files that are not on your netbook?

I don't know if my netbook came with a restore partition. I thought all pc's came with that option. That's one of the places I have been trying to get to, but can't. oh and the USB had pics and vids of my friend's family. He figured he could borrow one of my many USB drives and not tell me.....til now

How are you trying to install Windows? Are you using the flash drive or are you using a DVD? I'm not quite sure which one you're using.
