Need to format now, need Home Premium ITA in the future
Hi. I'm sorry to bug you, but I need a quick answer, since I must do this today in the early afternoon.
I have a friend which has an old XP OEM installation on his computer, which works terribly, is slow and so on, so he wants to reinstall Windows. I told him that installing Windows 7 may be a good idea, since it is about to come out. The problem is that he doesn't need the Ultimate version and doesn't want to spend so much money for an edition he doesn't need (the prices here in Italy are very high).
After talking to him to the phone, we decided yesterday to install Windows 7 RC now, and then upgrade to the final version after it comes out and he physically buys it in the shop. I know that this is not officially supported, but it is possible. Yesterday, at night, I remembered that the RC is available in English only (not in Italian at least), so the only way to have W7 in italian without formatting is installing the RC as Ultimate, upgrade to Ultimate and use the italian language pack, but as I said he doesn't want to buy the ultimate.
What do you recommend?
Of course an option is getting the RTM on BitTorrent and start using it now as a trial, then "legalize it" when it comes out by buying it in the shop and typing the serial on into an already working installation, but if possible I would prefer avoiding BitTorrent and doing stuff which is not strictly legal.
Please save me!
Thanks. :)
