changing default drive letters

Hi,
A few days ago I decided to install windows 7 7100 on my newly built desktop, unfortunately a day later i get an error called 651, i looked around and found out that it is a bug so i am resorting to a more stable os (vista...but only for now) and i am trying to boot it from daemon tools becuz my dvd copy has trouble booting, but every time i try to install it, it keeps trying to install the OS on my system partition and gives me an error that says there is not enough space available.

So my question is, how can i change the default drive letter that windows 7 gives to Daemon Tools?

No input is disregarded, and thank you in advance for the insight.

I would probably try and get a working DVD copy, or move it to a USB flash drive, following the steps to boot from that. This way, you can do a fresh install, and not have to worry about errors or wrong drive letters.

You can change the drive letter in Daemon tools itself. Right-click on the tray icon, and where you normally go to mount an image, find "Set device parameters" in the menu.

I suspect you are trying to install from within an OS. If you boot from the dvd you will not have the not enough space available. If your dvde is funky you may need to download another image

Yes maybe he didn't write the ISO correctly. Use ImgBurn with the "Verify" option ticked.

well i used powerISO to write the ISO to the disk, but i keep getting, boot disk failure, insert disk and press enter. And for some reason when i right click on the daemon tools icon, no where can i find where the drive letter is defaulted to.

maybe you have an old version of daemon tools. or maybe this feature is unsupported in Windows 7. (I am in XP and looking right at the place to change drive letter).

your PC will not boot from the DVD unless you tell it to. In the BIOS you select the DVD-ROM as first boot device.

yeah i already changed my bios boot order to cd drive first, but same thing, and the problem is, i cant upgrade my deamon tools becuz i hav no internet access, is there no way to fix this bug?

then how did you post that message?

you must write the ISO as an image. In ImgBurn this is called "Write image file to disc" (or Mode Write)
