    Installation Question

Want to reinstall using my upgrade box, currently not activated at the moment, but was wondering about using DARIKS BOOT AND NUKE on my rig, re-installing windows, and activating by phone, because I have been reinstalling from the old install, and just activating by phone every time.

I'm not sure I understand your question or your situation, but........

If you have a valid 25 character Product Key, you can download a Windows 7 ISO file, burn it to a disc, and install from that disc. Activate with the existing Product Key.

Not sure what you mean by "reinstall using my upgrade box".

Not sure what you mean by "DO NOT HAVE ORIGIONAL OS DISC, ONLY Windows 7 SP1 DISC".

Not sure what you mean by "reinstalling from the old install".

Not sure why you aren't currently activated.

You should not have to use Darik's Boot and Nuke.

Hello TexShane, welcome to Seven Forums!

Have a look at Method Two of this guide at the link below, it is a better method and more reliable than that other SW you have.

So with DISKPART, I reinstall just like normal, just open a command window before the install, and wipe the disc using windows? and its completely formatted and non-recoverable? then just install and activate like normal?

Study all the info in that Method Two from above, it's all discussed there.

Yes ... Windows will do everything needed.

I think I have it summed up:
    • Insert Windows 7 disc and restart
    • At the first black screen hit space bar for "Press any key"
    • At the "Language" screen hold "Shift" and hit F10, type diskpart <enter>
    • Then type list disk <enter>
    • Type cleanall

Follow this, it does take quite a long time.

Be sure you use the correct disk number to match yours if there is more than 1 HDD in the PC.

Oh, after this completes will I still have the screen about what partition I want to install windows to? Then I can just delete the partitions into one giant 80GB space?

Then just do the wipe then exit out of distpart and let the installer do the format during the installation.
