Missing Bootmgr, OS, and kernel :(

Hey, so I messed up badly.
I somehow deleted my OS. In trying to download/ upgrade a new one I got errors saying that my bootmgr is missing and my kernel is missing. Is my computer done for? I can't do anything, Ive tried safe mode and got nothing. Just a black screen that says the bootmgr is missing.

    can anyone help??

What do you mean by In trying to download/ upgrade a new one? Please explain. DO you have a Windows 7 install DVD you were trying to use?

What is the make and model number of your computer? Fill out your System Specs, that would help. Click on User CP at the top then Edit System Specs.
Your computer should have a built in Recovery partition you can use to restore it to it's factory new state by pressing a Fn key (or key combo) during boot. Be aware that doing this will wipe out all your existing data so if you have anything there you don't want to lose you need to back it up first.

Perhaps the missing bootmgr is because you already erased the info on your disk and dont have a proper boot device selected (a.k.a dvdrom or usb) to reinstall again your OS?

I don't know. I'm slow when it comes to computers.
A few weeks ago I went to start up my computer as normal, and it came up with a black screen saying I didn't have an Operating System. Previously I had Windows Vista.
So I got a copy of Windows ultimate from a friend and he told my to install it. (just a burnt copy)
So I tried to install it and got all the way to "Expanding windows files" when an error popped up (Error code 0x8007045d) and it told me to restart. So I did... and when I did that I got just a black screen that says "bootmgr missing"
I'll try to fill in the specs now.

Is this a legit copy of Win7 with a Product Key to activate it? If so can you boot it by tapping the HP F9 one-time BIOS Boot Menu key at boot? Choose DVD drive to boot. What happens.

It should go like this: Clean Install Windows 7.
If not at what step does it fail and what is the exact error message?
