    Hi Matt -

Did you buy a copy of Win7 from your school? Is this a retail copy of Win7 or is it one which is activated by the school's IT department?

If it's a retail copy then with the Product Key you should have been given at purchase you can follow the steps in this link to Clean Install Windows 7. Be sure to boot the disk: How to Boot your Computer from a Bootable CD or DVD

If it's an organization's Enterprise copy, consult your School on how to activate it.

Ask back any questions you have as we will help you set it up so it runs perfectly.

No, when i bought my laptop, ASUS N61JV, it came preinstalled with Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit. The activition key is on the bottom of the laptop.

As long as the Product Key is readable then follow these steps to Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7.

Everything you need is in the blue link. Ask back if you have any questions.

Nine times out of ten a wrong character has been inputted. It happens a lot.

If you're happy with performance then you can keep this install. If not reinstall according to the steps in tutorial to get a perfect reinstall.
