    Unable to install windows 7

I try to install win 7 but when it restarts it jams on the "Starting Windows" place.
I have a pentium 4 cpu 1.70 GHz, 1GB RAM, 128 MB video mem, 30 GB HDD EXCELSTOR.
    Please help.

I think your computer is far from being supported on Win7, even when many users are able to install it on ridiculous low end computers.

Maybe time to check the HDD? I've seen machines loop over and over in an install due to failing HDD.

Where did you get Win7? Did you burn a DVD yourself? If so confirm ISO source and burn to DVD using ImgBUrn at 4x speed.

Unplug all other HD's and peripherals to try install.

Enter BIOS setup to reset to defaults: Clear CMOS - 3 Ways to Clear the CMOS - Reset BIOS.

Test your RAM and HD: You can burn to CD or write to flash stick Hiren’s BootCD to boot to test the HD with the maker's diagnostics, Check File System after making a full disk partition with Partition Wizard, test your RAM with memtest86.

I purchased it from a Shop.
And the Ram and HD are working great.
