That's one of their older XP systems with the size of the drive right off pointing to an ide not sata there. The board looks about right!
I can telll one thing right away. Don't expect to find chipset and other drivers since most of the old boards as well as systems never even saw Vista updates to start with! I have a few old Socket A, 939 XP boats you can take away for that reason!
the computer im using right now IS the intended system I'd like windows 7 to be on (the T6209). Correct I've got 2 slots for Dimm Ram. I have one 1gb stick and 1 512mb stick installed.
I want to know what the issue is thats letting Windows 7 boot up on the T3256 computer and not my T6209.
How do you have the hard drives set up there? Are you running both on the same ide cable with one master the other slave or the intended 7 drive on the second cable with the optical drive on the first with the original XP drive?
If you added the second one in for 7 as slave you may have to set the jumper to cable select if it's on the same cable. I used run into that problem at times on old XP builds here when adding drive on for 98 or even a Linux distro where the drive wouldn'r even be seen!
As far as planning to run 7 on the system there as a main OS don't bother to look for board drivers since there were no Vista updates found. You would need to upgrade the board along with the cpu. memory, video card in order to at least see Vista updates available unless found at the chipset manufacturer, install a separate sound card, and so forth.
Be prepared to find this typical of any old premade systems as well as on old Intel as well as AMD boards where the new socket series like AM2 for AMD and Intel Core 2 and late model P4 boards are what saw Vista support. The old stuff was simply disconitinued after a certain amount of time!
My optical drive's got its own channel. My HDD goes on its own channel as well. My HDD mount can hold 2 drives. I ONLY keep 1 connected at time. When I want to use the other, I shutdown and switch the cables.

That part I don't quite follow.
It ran on my 8 year old Dell Computer that was built for Windows 2000
Pentium 3 - with 384mb of RAM
It ran on my other eMachines computer
AMD XP Processor - 1gb of RAM
The system I want it on is newer than those other machines, so why it cant is baffling me. It's not making complete sense to me.
If my system truely cant run it, then thats fine, I'll accept that, I'd just like to know WHY. What is stopping it from working correctly.

What do you mean to not look for drivers since no Vista updates are found?
My XP hdd is set to Master - The Win 7 hdd is set to cable select (no jumper)
I've taken out the 512 stick and same problem continues. Since it worked on a 384mb Ram computer, I took out the 1gb stick instead, and same problem
currently I'm reformatting the Win 7 hdd with NTFS (not the quick format, the down n dirty format using my windows xp disk[at 98% now]) after that I'll reinstall Win 7 and see if that works.
Alrighty. I got the install started (expanding windows files now). Fresh formatted HDD. Only thing plugged into the machine is mouse, keyboard, and monitor. Did also set the jumper to Master. We'll see how this goes...
Finished the install. Did its first reboot, and got the same error, but the file changed from "Boot\BCD" to "\Windows\system32\winload.exe" then when I pushed enter to continue it changed back to "Boot\BCD"

Hopefully you will now start seeing some working results with the few changes made. Did you previously have the formatted to Fat 32 or VFat or simlpy raw unformatted by chance?
When you mentioned now having it formatted to NTFS that brought up the alarm bells on not having the drive ready to go! That and now having the drive mastered are two things there that would stall the works.
You may want to check the boot order in the bios since you were booting from the optical drive to make sure hard drive is set first! Disable floppy search and the cd rom/dvd items to force boot from the main drive.
