Hello again

Few month ago, I installed a new SSD and renoved my failed hard disk. Recently, I read that it is not a good manner to store data on an SSD and this one should be use only for system

OK, I succeed to install a hard disk, but now i need to:

- Move my data from SSD to the hard disk
- Modify the default address to link to the new drive

I need to do it properly and without loosing my data and my path tree organisation.

Any link on how to execute the procedure?

I also installed a SSD recently but I will leave everything were it is. I cloned my old 80GB SATA HD to the new 128GB SSD which includes all the user stuff like My Documents. I will leave them alone.

I think it's not true that you should move you data off the SSD. There are many system controlled areas that are way more active as far as reading and writing the SSD than your data.

Paging (pagefile.sys) and registry are two that come to mind. I moved my pagfefile.sys to another drive several years ago but I'm considering moving it back to the SSD since it is a much faster drive than the SATA drive it is sitting on now.

The whole reason to have a SSD drive is speed so my mantra is to make use of it.

If you have enough space on the SSD then you don't have to move data yet. But the best way to do it is to copy your User folders to the HD, then rightclick each to add to the related Library - Include a Folder - Windows 7 Forums.

Once you confirm the data from the HD appears in each library (you'll need to create a Downloads library) you can delete the User folder contents on C. You'll also need to periodically move over files that land there.
