Chaos, I don't think that is what Microsoft had in mind when they sent it to your company.
I would not continue that.
Well, we are small business and don't have extra machines to test on. So we test at home.

Anyways, other then not being able to activate it, it W7 has been running for almost a week now. Isn't it suppose to disable it at some point if it's not activate it?

Or I guess the better question is why should I care if it's not activate it and how does it effect me?

Windows 7 x64 finally!

Chaos, look here: Windows 7 Enterprise| Trial, Evaluation, Test, Deploy
It will shut down every hour if not activated (You have 10 days to activate the product. If not activated within 10 days, the system will shut down once every hour until activated. Unsure on how to activate? Visit our FAQ.)

Please also notice the line that says:

After the 90-day Trial expires, if you wish to continue to use Windows 7 Enterprise, please note that you will be required to purchase and perform a clean installation of Windows 7, including drivers and applications. Please keep this in mind; Windows 7 Enterprise is not available through retail channels.

Windows 7 x64 Enterprise

When I installed x64 Enterprise, it did not ask me for a key.
You have to right click on my computer and go to properties and then you will see, activate my key or something along those lines. It gives you 3 days to do so.

That is if it is the full OS, and not the trial

It says 3 days, and it's been saying that for over a week now.

Also I ran the OS more then an hour (few times already) and it does not shut down on its own.

PS. it no longer says 3 days to activate. It's up to 26 days now.

it says you have 10 days to activate and then the shutdowns will start occurring...

Trust me, Microsoft would not let you download the full OS for free with no strings attached...

They gave me a 32 bit Ultimate DVD for free...

With (supposedly) a lifetime 'Activation code', 25 alphanumerics.

I thought that was very kind of them.

Others seem dissatisfied, because there was no 64 bit included.

Can't satisfy everybody all the time, I guess...
