I run Dell notebooks but the business class model, Latitude, so it was never installed on my Dell notebooks.
I have around 400GB of movies and songs.I prefer to access them without loading whole os system.also it consumes a lot of ram , media direct runs faster when launched directly.

Otherwise I would research via Google how to reinstall Dell Media Direct. If it indeed does require installing it first then you can use these steps to Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7.

Let us know what you find out. Maybe someone who knows more about reinstalling the program will come along, too.
Thanks ,
I had its original recovery disc.when I tries to install it using boot loading (f12).it asks me to erase whole drive.

Right and all links point to installing Media Direct Before the OS. So I don't think you are going to find anything that says anything else or be able to install it without first Erasing the Drive.

Dell Media Direct should be in the Factory Recovery image, so why not boot it from its partition to run? You say that it asks you to wipe the HD, so what is wrong with that? You need to have your data all backed up anyway. Dell Windows 7 PC Restore

Then you have your Recovery Disks to use as back up in case Recovery fails from its partition, which is the best way to use those disks.

If Media Direct is available on Dell Downloads then you can try installing it separately from a Clean Reinstall.
