It is not the regular reinstall disc is why I'm confused. It came with my computer.

will it work?
Yes its a standard WIn7 installation disk but with your OEM's logo and the activation baked in.
Since it has SP1 there's no reason to use the installer provided in Steps 1 and 2 so you can move onto Step 3 to make sure you get a perfect reinstall.
Leave the HDD disconnected when you install to the SSD.
After Windows is running well on the SSD and you know you can boot without the HDD, reconnect the HDD.
If you have personal data on the old C partition of the HDD, you would have to copy that data to some other partition on the HDD or to the SSD.
After that is done, you can delete the old C partition because it no longer has anything you need.
In addition you might want to link your User folders from the HD anyway to save space on the SSD for the OS and Programs which benefit most from the faster speeds.
The easiest way is to rightclick each User folder to add it to the related Library - Include a Folder - Windows 7 Forums.
