Hy , i've just downloaded windows 7 x86 , burn it on cd and when i tried to instal on my pc , it gave me the error : "boot error code 5 "....afther that i tried to install it on my notebook and it started with no problem....can anyone help me please...i don't know what to do. Thank You.

Ok Im going to have to guess but you are installing from a dvd to your pc. You may need to go into bios and enable the dvd player. You might have to upgrade your bios. It it a pc thats several years old so upgrading drivers is probably needed. give us more info and we can give you more hel

Windows seven Boot error code: 5 fix
Take a windows vista setup dvd make an ISO of it.
Open the ISO with ISO maker Delte files from ISO and replace with the files from the windows seven DVD and save the ISO then burn dvd.
may work with xp boot cd

I used MagicISO to export my Vista boot image and import it to my Win 7 DVD and it worked perfectly.

- Boot your PC with the floppy, it will show a screen searching for boot records in your computer, follow the instructions about the video resolution.
- Once you are inside the GUI, there will be a list of supported booteable media, press the "F" key corresponding to the one that reads "no emul" or "no emulation" (it should be your DVD)
- Pay attention to the message "Press any key to boot from CD or DVD", so do it!


Hello, I bought WIN7 Home Premium, but can´t install it... for what I´ve read it is because my old MSI motherboard. I followed your steps to boot in other way but I'm stuck... There is no clear instructions in the screen about the video resolution and it doesn´t show the GUI so I can continue.
Can you help me with this issue.

For the error code 5 in windows 7 this is the right solution.I tried everithing before that and nothing worked i had the problem yesterday but today i'm done just folow the instructions .download the archive IMAGE BURN.rar you have the instruction there whit pictures and all. or install windows with daemon tools etc. Sorry for my english. Some old motherboards chipsets cannot boot from the Windows 7 Installation CD

The easiest way is to boot from a Windows Vista System Repair Disk, go to fix computer option , got to command line, then insert Win 7 install disk, enter D:, enter cd sources, enter setup

I also had to update my motherboard bios first (ASRock) to be able to even boot from the vista disk. If your vista does not boot, check your bios (enter with F2 or Del right after booting and check the Bios version or see motherboard manufacturer website how to check this) download the newest version and burn to a CD. If it's not bootable by itself you need to create a DOS boot disk, boot from that and then use it - I used the Ultimate Boot CD - Overview and booted the Netware DOS, the entered T: or whatever letter your CD drive has been assigned and updated the downloaded bios from another CD (Burn as simple ISO), then the vista boot disk worked

The problem could be that the disk is in Bootable UDF? Older drives & computers seem to have problems with this. Solution, use a program like Ultraiso and in the taskbar on the left it will tell whether it is Bootable UDF or Bootable CD/DVD, if it says Bootable UDF click on the red tick thingy and uncheck the UDF option. Now you can save it as a iso file and burn to disk.
I always use rewritables for this, just in case!!
