Windows 7 OEM installation problem- "no new devices could be found..."

    Hi

I am trying to re install my Windows 7, to do that I am using an 64bit, OEM Home Premium version from Microsoft website. After all files are loaded and I am starting installation I am getting this message: "No new devices could be found. Make sure the driver files are correct and located on the driver installation media."

My first thoughts was that installer is missing SATA drivers to my Motherboard so I downloaded them and tried to add from my memory stick during installation but it didn't help, I also tried to switch to IDE mode but it didn't work also. Latter I created bootable pendrive with Windows installation but got same error.

Don't know how to deal with that problem, please help.
Computer that I am working on is Asus G73SW-a1 laptop, please let me know if I need to post any additional information's.

    Thanks!

The SATA drivers are all in the WIn7 installer as long as you downloaded it intact and wrote to stick or burned to DVD correctly as given in Steps 1/2 from Clean Reinstall - OEM Windows 7. Read over all the other steps too to make sure you are prepared to get a perfect reinstall.

First enter BIOS setup to see if there is an EFI boot disk in BIOS Boot order. If so remove it and wipe the HD with Diskpart Clean Command first to change to MBR disk.

If not check for newer BIOS update, if none reset BIOS to defaults: Clear CMOS - 3 Ways to Clear the CMOS - Reset BIOS.\

Unplug all other HD's then wipe the HD as given above.

ok so I did or at least tried to do all that you advised me and unfortunately it didn't work... I looked for EFI boot disk but haven't had any in my Boot List, than I decided to update my BIOS but version on ASUS support website was older than one that I am using now, after that I unplugged my other HDD and proceed to Diskpart Clean Command... I was able to format my drive C but I still have exactly the same problem. First, right after starting installation by clicking button "Install Now", selecting language, location and keyboard preferences and clicking "Next" I am getting this message:
"A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD or USB flash drive, please insert it now."
After I plug my USB Flash drive with downloaded disk drivers from ASUS Support website installer finds "Intel Mobile Express Chipset SATA AHCI Controller (IAAHCI.INF) and allows me to proceed by clicking "Next" (it wasn't available before), after few seconds of processing I am getting this message:
"No new devices could be found. Make sure the driver files are correct and located on the driver installation media."
and there is nothing else I can do from that place...

    btw.
I plugged my other memory stick with XP installer and right after booting process I got message that my drives configuration is not correct and setup can't start.

Don't really know what to do now, pleas share any thoughts.

The error is almost always a bad installer. Confirm or re-download the ISO from link I gave you, write to stick or burn to DVD using the tool given. If one method fails, try the other.

gregrocke you were right! (thank you so much for your help) it was bad installer fault, I downloaded another one and it all went good but I wasn't able to proceed with my windows key... just skipped it... have no idea why it didn't let me put it in

Did you install the correct version for your license?

Is this an Upgrade version? If so do Option 3 workaround in Clean Install with a Upgrade Windows 7 Version to activate.

Otherwise the cause in 90% of cases is wrong characters being inputting for key. Triple check.
