can i go back to win 7

    i`m not real pc savey lol. when i first got my pc it ask`ed me if i wanted to make two drives c and d or just a c drive, i chose to make 2 drives c and d. so does that make my d drive a separate physical HDD.

    That was probably on the same HD. If you haven't used D then you can install Win8 there.

    Do you have a second HD installed in the PC? Do you have an external HD? Those would be the best places to save a backup image.

    If not you can wait until you get one, or we can help you create a third partition for temporary image storage on the same HD although that is not recommended since it would be lost if the HD failed and therefore defeats the purpose of a backup.

    So we have a better idea what you have please post back a screenshot of your maximized Disk Mgmt drive map with listings, using the Snipping Tool in Start Menu. Attach using paper clip in reply box.
