Transfer Windows 7 to New Computer
Hi, How would you transfer complete Windows 7 Home Premium 32 Bit installation from old computer with PATA HDD to New computer with SATA HDD?
Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks, John |

If either has a WD or Seagate HD I'd use Acronis premium free cloning/imaging suite to clone or image it over, otherwise use Win7 built-in imaging or Macrium - Image your system
Be sure to include MBR and track 0 if asked, have Win7 installer or Repair CD standing by in case it won't start to run Startup Repair - Run 3 Separate Times after making sure Win7 or it's 100mb System REserved (preferred) is marked Active. Mark Partition Active |

Another option would be to use the Migrate OS to SSD or HDD feature in the free version of Aomei Partition Master. I have used it a number of times and it has always worked very well.

I would make a system image using Macrium and restore the image to your new drive.
