Need help asap!

Hi, here's my problem; I tried installing linux ubuntu alongside w7, but somewhere near the end of my installation my laptop turned off and when turned on again it gave me no option to run linux or windows, it went straight into w7. I then, stupidly, decided to do a factory reset and just install linux and remove windows. There was then some problems when I tried installing certain programs on windows. (I'd given up on linux) and it wouldn't install them. So I decided the best option was to do a factory reset...again, but this time it wouldn't let me saying I needed the w7 installation disk. I downloaded the .iso and installed it on my usb then booted it on my laptop, I picked repair and it did it's thing, but a while later once finished, it told me it didn't install properly and I would need to do it again (at this point I was getting annoyed, as it had taken roughly 30 mins to do the previous step on top of everything else). Sometime around here I lost the installation on the usb, and gave up trying to fix it for about a week as I was too busy.

Getting to the point, my computer won't run w7, it gives an option of 2 w7 boots, both do not work saying I need to install again, I got a installation .iso as before, but now when I boot I get a black screen with a flashing _.

Can you please help, I don't want to take it to a shop, as I don't have much money.

Thanks, I'll have a look at those and hopefully one will work. I don't mind losing everything as long as it makes my laptop work.

I can't open cmd in any way, so I'm just looking to reset completely. It's a lot easier, I hope.

The moves you describe are so impulsive and random there is no reason to believe you even have a correctly formatted installer. So start at the top with the latest official ISO download burned or written with the tool provided in Steps 1/2 in Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7.

Unplug all other HD's and peripherals, Boot into BIOS setup to see if there is an EFI Boot Disk in BIOS Boot order. If so remove it, set DVD drive first to boot. If EFI BIOS also set to Legacy BIOS. Then set SATA controller to AHCI. Save changes and Exit.

Then boot into installer DVD or flash stick, at first screen Press Shift + F10 to open a Command Box, type:

DISKPART
LIST DISK
SEL DIS 0 (after confirming Windows 7 target HD #)
CLEAN
CREATE PARTITION PRIMARY SIZE=102400
FORMAT FS=NTFS LABEL="WINDOWS 7"
ACTIVE
EXIT

Next click Install Now to Clean Install Windows 7 to the partition you created. If it fails then report back at which step and the verbatim error message.

In addition re-read these steps to understand the tools and methods which work best to get and maintain a perfect Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7. The steps are the same for retail.

I didn't get a cd that's why I'm using a usb.
