Product key 32bits and 64 bits

    Hello.

I bought some TOshiba Porteges with a valid Windows sticker Product Key and Windows 7 pro 32 bits pre-installed.
On the other hand I have a Windows 7 Pro 64bits DVD. I want to install this DVD on the PC. Could I use the same Product ID which is writen on the sticker ?

I mean, to activate Windows 7 Pro 64, could I use the same product key as the one on the sticker ?

    TYA

Hello Michel, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Yes, product key numbers are good on both their 32-bit and 64-bit editions so long as only one is activated with the key at the same time and not both.

You'll also need to make sure that your PC's CPU supports 64-bit, and there are 64-bit drivers available for all of your devices first.

    Hope this helps, :)

Thanks ever so much Brink. Of course, the Portege can support W7 64bits and I already downloaded all drivers ftom Tosh support.

    cheers
