Though I can't imagine you not knowing anybody that knows a little more about setting up a computer than you do.

You could easily ruin both installs when you do something wrong, and lose your files.

You can't expect us to run you through every little detail of installing.
We have lives too, although it doesn't seem so.
Another option that no one has explored, is taking the computer to a shop that will install it for the OP.. like squonksc has pointed out, installing an OS from scratch is not for everyone, regardless of how much we want to help. There is a time to let a professional do the job and that time seems to have come.

I tend to agree with my colleagues. I am afraid you might damage some of your files by following advice which is not based on the compelte picture, since we can't be there to be able to see everything
There are stores like Staples that offer troubleshooting service. I don't know where you are, but maybe you could now use some of that.
Sorry that we can't help, but as it was said, we should know where to stop before something irreversible (like loosing youor personal files) is done
I don't care about the files... I have nothing on my pc that I need! All I wanted to do was to install win7 64 bit from my xp 32 bit... >_>
Unsafe, back to basics: ou said installing Win7 32 bits worked. Do you need 64 bits? Are you going to use more than 3G memory, do you do heavy gaming? If not, Win7 32 bits should be OK (it might have a better performance with your 2G than the 64 bit version). Then I recomend you do a clean install of Win7 32, have a working machine and enjoy the OS!
Are you getting any farther along on the install? In your first are you say you make it to restart? If so then try this tut.

And have you tried installing from within xp, stick dvd in cd drive. then open it into explorer. and click on setup .exe ( don't auto run it)
I don't think you understand my problem. I don't know how to get rid of my failed installation of win 7 32 bit(I call it failed because when choosing win7 in the windows load screen it doesn't actually load the windows, it loads it to delete it(because during install it stopped and smthn bad happened) but it doesn't delete itself no matter how many restarts it does or how many hours I wait) , but if installing windows 64bit would fix that problem then it doesn't matter right?
I didn't come here to ask for help on how to press INSTALL button, I came here cause something else happened(like it always does...). it opens an error, saying that 64 bit cannot be installed for some idiotic reason (obviously that I have xp). It does not react when I boot it from DVD (the dvd is fine itself, I tried it on another pc). IT DOES NOT LOAD THE INSTALL SCREEN WHEN BOOTED FROM DVD!!!!
