    Installing Windows 7 problem

Hi. I would love it if someone help me.
I am currently running Windows xp 32 bit, and I have Windows 7 professional(the newest release) 64 bit DVD. The problem is that I can't install it with autorun, nor with restart+boot.
I can't install it with booting from DVD because, after I press any key, it only loads the Windows 7 wallpaper screen and my mouse cursor, nothing else. I don't care if I have to delete all my Hard drives, just tell me how to install Windows 7.
    Please help :)

Not too sure about this but I think you have to change some settings in the BIOS to make the PC boot from the DVD when you restart it.

But it does boot! While loading windows it says "press any key to boot from cd/dvd", and, obviously that's where my problem starts

what do you do when it says press any key to boot from dvd/cd?

BTW you have to do a clean install when going from 32bit to 64bit.

Well, obviously I press enter/space/any letter on keyboard/whichever.
And I have no Idea what a clean install is and how to perform it, I originally thought that booting from DVD is considered a clean install?

Oh yeah, I also forgot to mention that I tried to upgrade from xp to windows 7 (86) and something bad happened to the installation. So now I have 2 version of windows(lets me chose in the load screen) one of them is XP, the other is... well it says ''load this to do a backup install'', whatever that means... chose W7 then it freezes at the load screen(that new load screen with a new moving window icon) and does nothing, I waited for 2 hours at that screen and nothing changed.
Do I need to get rid of it somehow before making a fresh install?

I'm afraid that didn't help at all. The video showed me 2 things, how to save your files, before installing, which I don't need! And how to make a working Install DVD which I already have as well...

DANG! Exactly the SAME thing is happening to me... I press a key to boot from the dvd and it starts loading files .. then some graphic appears and says: Starting Windows... Then I got to see the cursor i can move it and there is a blueish background wallpapaer with a bird and that's all .. nothing else to do! I can move the mouse I press ctr + alt+ del nothing happens... I hit the start key nothing happens ... and I can tell the pc isnt frozen cuz I can move the cursor like I said b4.
    Any Ideas??
