    Hello Unsafe, Welcome to SevenForums
Sounds like you need to remake your dvd install disc. You download this from somewhere and then burned it how? What burning software did you use?

Yeah I can load XP fine, it just doesn't respond to my failed install of Windows 7 version.
Also, what's an IDE drive and how to disable it?(I see people here that say it helped).
I tend to agree with the other post, your failed instllation might be messing things up.
Your drives can be SATA (small connector, a little thicker cable) or IDE (flat and wide cable).
You don't seem to be even getting to the installation step where it would look for the HDD, so, before you erase everything, try to re-burn your DVD as myzr7 suggested (suggest using ImgBurn: The Official ImgBurn Website)

Yeah I diownloaded an ISO file and burned to my brand new disc at 4x speed, the program was ashampoo ver 7. And my drives are SATA. It's not my first time burning that install, I thought I messed it up or something, so I made 3 more copies, it's still the same, I also bought 5 more discs and burned different windows 7 versions to the discs (Profesional, home, and ultimate) on 86 and 64 versions, still the same.
I get a normal install popup screen with all 86 versions (thats how I made a messy install of professional 86bit) while in Xp windows mode (when i insert dvd into the rom). But when I boot from dvd its always the same story, I get the Windows 7 background screen wallpaper and only able to move my cursor, that's it.

Unsafe, try the installation in safe mode (no pun intended...) :). When it prompts you to press any key to boot from DVD, press and hold F8. It should bring you to the boot options where you can select safe mode. If nothing else it might tell us where it is stuck (it will list the drivers as they load).

Just tried to boot + safe mode. Didn't work, now, it only loaded a black background together with my cursor, nothing else...

Well, we are making progress, now we don't get the blue screen, we get a black screen... Sorry, I know how frustrating it is, been there. Just trying to lighten it up

Re-reading the thread, I am not sure if you ended up getting rid of your failed installation, have you? Also, can you list your motherboard? Do you know if your BIOS is up to date? Also, do you have onboard video you could use instead of your Radeon 4870? Win7 should have drivers for this, but this is a common cause for problematic installs. The best is to try with the onboard video connected via VGA, not DVI.

Talking about the BIOS, also try disabling all devices unecessary to boot, such as LAN card, USB, audio. These also can cause problems. If it works you can enable them later.

    Let me know.

No, I have not rid of the failed installation, when I load it its suppose to rollback installation but it just freezes(waited 5 hours).
What do you mean by "can you list your motherboard"?
What's a BIOS and how can I check if its up to date?
I just tried to install with my 7900GS card but the same thing happened. And my 4870 is VGA just like 7900GS.
And disabling unnecessary devices to boot, do I just disconnect them from their sockets?(like my headphones/speakers) or is there more to it?

    @OP

Without reading the rest of the posts, what I did was burn the ISO to a DVD at the slowest speed possible (2.5X in my case), then changed my DVD drive to be the primary boot in the BIOS then I was able to load up the windows 7 install disk.

I used ISO burner for burn the iso to the disk.

Thanks Unsafe for the feedback. By item:

Can you tell us what your motherboard manufacturer and model number / name are? I am mostly interested in knowing whether it has an onboard video controller.

Basic Input / Output System. Roughly speaking it is what starts your computer, telling it what devices are attached and how they operate (BIOS - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia). Then your operating system takes over and controls it (but it can't if the HD is not started by the BIOS, or something is not communicating correctly)
When you boot you should have a screen with a message telling you to press something to access the BIOS (Del, F1, F11, it varies). If we find out what motherboard you have we can help further. Once in, you will have the "DOS-like" screen, and usually one of the first options or screens will tell you what version you have.

In order to disable devices you have to enter the BIOS and do it there. Just disconnecting them is not enough, since you will only disconnect the external device. The controllers, which are what we want to stop, will still be operating. You should have an option for the different devices to select "Disabled"
Do this before you start formatting partitions, if it solves your problem it is much less "invasive". You can start them back on later.

If you can, format the partition where the failed installation is (as long as you don't mess up your data). You might have to edit your boot options, we will tackle it if needed

    Hi Unsafe,

With all due respect, you clearly know so little of even the most basic things one needs to know to be installing an OS, I strongly recommend getting help from a friend who can guide you and teach you those basics.

If you don't know what a BIOS is, nor what IDE drive means, or a mainboard, then installing an OS is clearly not for you.

    Good luck.
