Can't access safe mode, win 7 won't complete install even on reformat
Laptop is aspire7720zg
Last nite it was sluggish so I manually rebooted. Couldn't access it on restart due to it locking up at welcome screen...the circle kept spinning. Rebooted in safe mode it froze up at Classpnp.sys
Rebooted a few times... Nothing. Decided to reformat partition c where win 7 was on and do a fresh install of win 7 it got thru most of it and rebooted I could get past the date set up and comp naming and then it would give me problems on restart where it would forever customize themes and media player....
Now I'm able to access partition d where thankfully I kept my data and media so I am currently transferring the files thru the load drives window option of the windows 7 disk I have inserted... My last option is to reformat the d drive as well after I move all the files and delete the drive and make a new partition, two of them again... But I don't want to do that just yet if you guys maybe can help me out, tel me what I'm missing?
Im afraid I'd the hard drive went bad.? But then if it did why is then am I able to access partition d of it since physically it's same hard drive isn't it.
Remember all this time I can't get to the desktop... Even safe mode locked up at Classpnp.sys.... What does this mean, hard drive went to bad or sector is corrupted to the point a reformat doesn't do the job ?
What to do
