    Best emulator to use on Win 7 Home Pre 64bit to install a linux OS


    I am a newbie - so please bare with me -

    I would like to install an emulator to run a type of linux OS (also which would be best Linux OS to try and learn linux with and have access to internet). I have an Acer Desktop running Windows 7 Home Premium SP 1 64-bit 4 GB installed RAM

    Thank You in advance - and also please help with details cause I am really out of date with computers and need help. Thank You again in advance

    I recommend VirtualBox

    And installing Ubuntu 12.10 with ~2GB of RAM.

    Virtualbox, and you should start trying things out with Xubuntu.

    You should also try VMware Player, also Free.
