    homegroup password setup problem

    thanks for viewing my topic,

i have three laptops im working with currently. they are all running windows 7 ultimate 64bit. i set up a homegroup on computer 1 with a password. computer 2 was able to join the homegroup with no problems, the password worked perfectly, and can share files perfectly. computer 3 however cannot connect to the homegroup. it recognizes the homegroup, and shows it as being created on computer 1 just like it is supposed to. when i try to connect however, it tells me the password is invalid.

i have tried multiple times to re-create the password and change it and everytime, computer 3 will not connect to computer 1's homegroup due to an "invalid password." all of the computers are connected wirelessly to the same home network. computer 2 is connected in the same way that computer 3 is, and i cannot see any problems with the network at all. all of the computers can see eachother fine on the network.

    any help is greatly appreciated!

Edit: i have also tried completely reinstalling windows on the problem computer.

    Welcome to SevenForums tezromania!

Have you tried setting it up as a Work Envrionment? And have you tried Connecting Computer 3 to Computer 1 before connecting Computer 2 to Computer 1. I had a similar problem while I was installing Windows 7 at my college, I couldn't connect more than 5 computers to the network, it kept telling me that I wasn't using it in a "Home Environment".

I suggest you try the Work one, even though its a home network.
