Windows 7 clean install problem "Power save mode"
Hi all,
I have ran into the strangest problem while completing a fresh install of Windows 7. I had previously had Vista ultimate 64bit installed but decided to install Windows 7. The first time I did the install I decided NOT to format the vista partition, but to rather just install over it. I was using Windows 7 for about a month when I decided to get rid of all the Windows.old files (vista install) and do a fresh format.
I entered the Windows 7 install, FORMATTED the old partition which had the previous installation on it and chose a clean install. The whole process was slow but it ended up installing fine until the first reboot came around. The windows 7 logo came up but then the screen just displayed with " Power save mode on" and the green light on my monitor turned orange and it hasn't gotten further since.
I have tried to format and do the install again but it gets to the same point, the installation seems to be fine until the first reboot where the screen goes into power save mode after the windows 7 logo is displayed.. This seems strange as the ISO I used to do my initial install worked fine, but on a fresh install after format it wont work. I tried to boot into safe mode but it says it cannot load safe mode without the installation being complete.
Anyone ran into the same problem? Thanks in advance.
