How do I burn iso after download using download Manager

Hi all:

From the MS Store.
I bought a FULL VERSION Vista Home Premium DVD actual disc not the downloaded version.
With the right to a FULL VERSION Win 7 when it releases on Oct 22nd.

I am thinking of getting it by downloading it from MS.

My question is really Simple.

How do I burn the iso to disk after Downloading it with the Download Manager to make it Bootable as if I got the actual disk?

A friend of mine said he downloaded his his was Vista without the Download Manager and there were (3)- Separate files and couldn't figure out how to make it a bootable disk so he returned it for the actual media.

NOW if I download my Win 7 Full Version disk to my Drive using the download manager, WILL IT be a single iso file so that I can burn it as a bootable disk?

And if it is suppose to be 3- separate files then how do I go about combining them to make it bootable?

I'd hate to choose the download option and not be able to make use of it, Only to have to pay FULL Price for an actual copy.

When I could just get my Free Copy for the price of Shipping and of coarse tax.

Any advice or Links I'd be most Grateful...... :)

Its simple really, download this, save it somewhere.

When its done downloading, go to the location you saved it, and extract the .zip file.

After that, open the folder it created and run 'IsoBurner'

Click on this;

Then locate the .iso file and select it.

Then burn it, you should also set the speed to the lowest possible to ensure their are no problems burning.

Sorry if its not that clear, I'm half awake about to go to sleep.

I've been trying to get this question answered for about (2) weeks now.
And all I got was links to MS Sites that only dealt with installing it from scratch or upgrading it.....
I already knew how to do that.

But after my Buddy told me of his experence, I was doubtful as to what to do.
And after paying for my Full Version of Vista, I really can't afford the extra for the Shipping and Tax for the Hard Copy.

Thanks also for the link for the iso burner I'll be sure to use it to burn the iso.....

I'm looking forward to the RTM of 7 Home Premium, I loved the rc release of 7, And simply put it TOTALLY ROCKS......

Welcome aboard.

Your post was interesting, in that there may be more implications here.

Since you've bought Vista and have the DVD in-hand, you seem all set there.

DL w7 and burning a DVD from an .iso file is no problem, and that's what was answered, so far.

I'd like to offer a little advice, however...

You should DL the .iso, burn the DVD, and even Boot from it.
Gives a little 'practice' with the mechanics of it.

You should, by all means, insure that you receive the w7 DVD disc, in your hands, and only install from that.

Your 'practice' burned iso should go no further that booting from the practice DVD, and insuring that you see the "Welcome/Setup" screen and QUIT -- just leave it at that.

Your "real" install, in my opinion, should only be done with the Microsoft w7 physical DVD in-hand.

The reasons for this are many.
1. With the "real" DVD, you have a genuine MS product. Somebody is supposed to give support. MS, Dell, Acer, whomever...

2. With the "real", there's no hedging by them, that you got a "bad DL" and all that entails.

3. We are all pretty certain that you will have a successful install using the "real-thing". If various problems should arise, much of the troubleshooting efforts are eliminated.

4. If and when a 'Reinstall' is necessary, or if you have to boot from the DVD for some sort of (dependable) 'Repair'-action, you'll have the real thing, from support from HP, Dell, Acer, etc. "Customer Support" resources.

5. I heartily recommend that you promptly initiate action (mail the check..) to get the w7 DVD now, if possible.

The "right" thing to do, before you install with that, is to make a Backup-Copy, Verifying, and then label it.
Secure the Original MS real DVD, untouched...

Then, finally, proceed with your first "Setup/Install", using the Backup-Copy that you just made.
Should a problem arise here, attempt # 2 can then use the "secured Original", which you KNOW is AOK...

I think I will get the Actual Hard Copy then......................

I can remember besides what my one buddy had went through, Hearing "HORROR STORIES" about people downloading Vista when it first came out and MS saying they couldn't do anything for them because it was as they put it "A BAD DOWNLOAD"..............

Or my personal favorite "IT'S YOUR FAULT YOU BURN'T IT WRONG".....

I'd really get If they tried to give me that "CRAP" I've dabbled in Linux long enough, to know how to burn a lousy .iso file.
I've most likely burn't at least 100 of them, and can only remember one bad one.....

I've been doubting the idea of downloading it from the get GO....

So I'll take you as that "STILL SMALL VOICE" telling me to, be Smart and get the actual Hard Copy, And burn me a Back Up of that.....

Made a small change:

1. Make Back-up and verify.
2. Secure "Original".
3. Use Back-up Copy for first install.
