Some Xp-Win7 questions

    The availability of Windows 8 is what made me take the leap to buying a new computer -- while I could still get Windows 7 on it :-}}

    Why I bought Win7 (being more than happy with XP) was because I'd heard rightly or wrongly that MS were ditching win7 and it may get hard to get in the future. And that Win8 was best kept away from - for just the reasons so many have mentioned here. It does seem a weird marketing move move by MS... and it seems every other produce is terrible, and then the next one makes up for it.

    I've found someone with an installed w7 who's happy for me to bring around some programs and see if they install/run OK or not. It'll be a big help to know in advance.

    Not too in depth. I did enter the one device I know is not supported - Creative Live Drive II but it
    reported no matches.
