Anyone have any further input on this issue?
Currently I've just learned to live with it.

Hasn't anyone suggested using bcdedit ? I personally would use easyBCD to edit the boot loader, and remove the errant lines

there is a tutorial on it in the tutorial section

    good luck

    EasyBCD is worth a shot.

Last resort would be to wipe out the BCD (delete it and reconfigure using the command line tools such as bootrec and bcdboot).

    Hi Ken,
I tried EasyBCD to replace the bootloader but it made no difference.
Can you see any errant lines in the bcdedit result I pasted in an earlier msg? In the meantime I'll have a browse through the tutorial and see what I can find. Thanks.

    Try this:

In an elevated cmd prompt, type:

    bcdedit /set {bootmgr} displaybootmenu no

    Then press enter

That only deletes the boot menu entry, it does not remove the other OS at all.

his problem isnt removing the OS, he wants to get rid of that boot menu option that shows everytime, asking him of he wants to load the OS OR the setup (EMS enabled)

Anyway, I had the same problem, the ones I posted worked for me though.

    Hi j,

    Thanks for the input.

We are well aware of that fix you posted.

The problem in this case was there was only one o/s and only one boot menu entry - yet the boot menu still displayed.

Unless I missed it , I didn't see this mentioned anywhere:

asking him of he wants to load the OS OR the setup (EMS enabled)
