Brand new Windows 7 64-bit cannot install anything

Hi guys. I have a brand new Windows 7 laptop but i cannot install anything for the past few days. It's really frustrating. I can't even download google chrome. When i download iTunes i get this :

I also keep getting unknown publisher error in whatever i download.

I have tried doing a SFC SCAN , CLEAN BOOT , FORMAT WHOLE LAPTOP , RUN AS ADMINSTRATOR.

Please help me out, i'm really in need of help. Thanks so much!

I would return to Acer or your retailer for replacement.

Hi Timothy and welcome to Seven Forums. If you are sure that the software you want to install is safe, then choose the run option and it should install. The warning is just a safety feature in Windows 7 to let you know that it can't verify the publisher of the software.

I get those same warning messages, but have always been able to click run and allow the software to install. If you can't do that then yeah, I guess I would do as theog mentioned and return the laptop.

It looks to me as if what you are trying to install (itunes 64 setup) is considered unsafe. Do you get the same unsafe message for all the software you are trying to install, or just itunes?

I could install Google chrome through Firefox now. But iTunes still a No. I suppose it's only for iTunes but i don't understand why though. Any idea? I downloaded it straight from apple's website which shouldn't be a problem!

OK, one thing you could try is to go into User Accounts in the Control Panel and under "change user account settings" change it to "never notify". This might require a reboot to save the changes. What this does is gives your user account administrative priviliges, instead of a limited user account. If you still can't install the software, than you might have to either return the computer, or try doing a clean install of Windows.

Well , i coudn't install iTunes previously so i did a clean install of windows & STILL getting this erorr. I also tried UAC, didn't work. Hey, i just downloaded WinRAR. It was also unknown publisher but the download and install went smoothly. I tried downloading iTunes once again, i get unknown publisher and it dosent install. I guess the problem's with only iTunes? If thats the case any ideas? =/ . Thanks alot for helping me so far jay. I really appreciate it :)
