    Windows installation help!!

Hello, I'm hoping someone can help me. I have a custom built pc( by a friend who worked at novatech at the time) has quad core phenom processor 4gb ram. Gigabyte motherboard 500gb hard drive with windows 8 preview installed. And a formatted 250gb. I'm trying to install windows 7 on the formatted drive but everytime off cd hangs on expanding files. So I thought I'd try USB stick. Got a 16gb cruzer blade. Formatted and made bootable. Windows on it. Will start via my computer but whenever I try booting it on standup I get an error about not being digitally signed. I've tried numerous things but will not boot from USB. Anyone know how to resolve this? Any help is help. Cheers. Ryan

Try using this Tutorial. I am the author so if you need any clarification I can help. Hope this works! :)

MAKE SURE YOU UNPLUG YOUR OTHER HARD DRIVE(S) BEFORE YOU START ANYTHING WITH THE DRIVE YOU WANT TO INSTALL 7 ON. You could accidentally erase something you didn't want to erase.

Well all the links don't work in my tutuorial. Here the are in order:

    Windows 7 ISO:

    Rufus Bootable USB:
    http://rufus.akeo.ie/

Don't worry about the very first link as it applies only to someone that has Windows 7 previously installed.

As the new MOBO's now have a uEFI/BIOS firmware.
How to install Windows 64 bit on a uEFI/BIOS firmware:
UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) - Install Windows 7 with
    or
UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) - Install Windows 8 with

UEFI Bootable USB Flash Drive - Create in Windows
Take note of Step 11 for Windows 7.

Be sure to confirm in BIOS setup that Win8 is installed in UEFI mode and not Legacy mode. Then you know that after install with all other HD's unplugged that it will start again if you install Win7 in UEFI mode.

In addition look over these same steps for Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 to see what works best with Win7 based on countless installs we've helped with here since before Win7 was released..
