If you're installing in UEFI mode then wipe the HD first with Diskpart Clean Command from installer Repair Command Line so the installer will format it GPT mode as required for UEFI.

Borrow a keyboard and mouse to do the install if needed.

popped the script in and gave it a go. never made it to the diskconfig part cuz the language and keyboard part popped up again..... thanks for all your help btw posted the xml in the post
I meant for you to change the disk configuration you have to what I posted. So you would keep your other settings like your language .

I kept my language settings the same. I just copied and pasted your script into over my diskconfig settings and made sure the partitions were correct. For whatever reason when I change something in the diskconfig it breaks the XML. I just can't nail down what it is that's breaking it or what I'm changing. Ill try to make another basic XML using rt seven lite and see what happens if I just add it there.

found the issue. It was a typo in the diskconfig part. now its asking where to install windows again. and it doesnt look like its creating the uefi partitions. i just get 1 200mb, and a 930GB partition instead of the 3.

Edit: loaded gparted on a flash drive and it recognizes my mouse and keyboard. Gonna format the drive when I get home. What would I need to do to skip the create partitions and just select which partition to install on?

What does the action say for Modify Partition ? Add or Modify ? If it says Modify try changing it to Add. You could edit the script in Notepad.

Okay so bought a new basic usb 2.0 keyboard and as I feared it also doesn't work. I only have 6 USB 3.0 ports and zero usb 2.0 ports. While USB 3.0 ports are backwards compatible, I don't think windows supports it. So I've gone for a different approach and added the necessary usb 3.0 drivers to the boot.wim of the windows install disk. All I need to do now is make a USB installer. However rt seven lite and vlite both decided this was a most opportune time to NOT WORK. Rt seven gets stuck at loading image (let it run all night to be sure) and vlite says I don't have waik installed but I've installed and re-installed waik 3 times now. Any suggestions?

Once you write the UEFI Bootable USB Flash Drive - Create in Windows try copying the drivers directly into the folder which are accessible in the root of the stick.

okay gregrocker your post sparked an epiphany. I made a usb installer per your link. then loaded the drivers found here using this tut here. however, still no juice. How is windows recognizing that the usb drive is installed? the drivers I added are specifically for intel usb 3.0 and via usb 3.0. do I need to add keyboard and mouse specific drivers? or what?

If you understand the difference between UEFI and Legacy BIOS and don't really care about messing with UEFI now you can choose to Bypass UEFI to Install WIn7 which works for everyone.

You shouldn't need USB3 drivers so I'd make sure the installer is good by booting it in another PC to see if it loads and cues up install correctly. If not write another. I always use UltraISO Software To Create Bootable USB Flash Drive but don't install in UEFI mode as I see no benefit to having it yet.

Add the USB 3.0 drivers to

    Code:
    dism /mount-wim /wimfile:boot.wim /index:1 /mountdir:mount
       Note

    BOOT.WIM:
Index: 1 is Microsoft Windows PE
Index: 2 is Microsoft Windows Setup
