If you would like you could do the command below. That will shrink your hibernation size not turn it completely off.

    Code:
    powercfg -h -size 50
What effect would that have on hibernation?

it reduces the size of your hiberfil.sys file.

-50 creates it of your physical memory

Hiberfil.sys uses 75% of your RAM

Forgive me for being dense but what effect would that have on hibernation?

It won't turn off the hibernation. It will just cut the size down . Right now it is using 75% of your RAM if you do -50 it cuts it an half.

So, if I cut the hyberfil.sys size in half, if I'm using more than half of 75% of RAM when a power outage while the computer is unattended forces my computer to hibernate, would I lose what I had going on?

It won't harm anything if you have a power outage. It just lowers your hiberfil.sys file .

So I'll be able to hibernate even if my RAM has more in it?

You should be. It shouldn't be turning it off. Test it out see if you like it.

I'd heed the Warning box in tutorial:
