MSDN License Copy of Windows 7 Ultimate

    Hello.

Here is my situation. I bought a copy of Windows 7 Ultimate from a local seller who was advertising on a local website. It turns out to be a MSDN license and not retail. Now the seller has said that they have used this copy of Windows for some time without any problems. So my question is what can happen if I decide to keep this software and install it on my computer but without a MSDN subscription. How can Microsoft possibly verify whether I have or do not have a MSDN subscription ? Does Windows check the local computer for a MSDN license configuration or registration information ?

Frankly speaking I've noticed that there are a lot of MSDN license copies of Windows 7 going around. On eBay specially.

    Thanking you in advance

FleaBay is the last place I would buy software from. The only places I will buy expensive software from are NewEgg, Frys Electronics, and the manufacturer.

    Hi Victor

I'd personally return the disc and see if you could get your money back . The seller is not allowed to sell you that disc nor they allowed to use the disc to install on other computers .

If Microsoft discovers what he has done that product code will be blacklisted. There have been countless threads in the past where e-bay purchased Windows 7 installs were good one day then not genuine the next.

What does eBay tell you when you demand your money back because you were sold an illegal copy of Win7?

Let them know we're all waiting to hear their response. They've made quite a business out of selling illegal copies of Win7 for four years now.

If you need any confirmation on the key being MSDN or documentation, contact MS Customer Service which will be interested to hear about this and even has a program who rewards those who cooperate in piracy investigations with free copies of Windows.
