Yes my machine come with Windows7 pre-installed as no optical drive with this computer.
Yeah 3
1. EFI systempartition
2. OS Windows
3. Recovery
and 4th partition I made for Data and back up
My sata config is and be surprised by the amount of options. These are in order:
Sata Mode Selection [AHCI]
Serial ATA Port 0
Device Type
Model Name
Serial Number
....Thats every option in sata config
That has to do with a bad installation files .
Lets try this again when you get the error again . Remove the drive and click cancel button and get back to the window where it says Install . Then put the USB drive back to the USB 2.0( left side next to DC port ) and click on Install .
Added: Change SATA from AHCI to either IDE or legacy which ever option it has
I suppose I could. I will look into it now but not sure if gonna have enough space on a usb... This UEFI boot menu has hardly no options compared to others
To bypass formatting in the USB device within the tool:
NoteThe USB device should be formatted manually before running the tool.
If you need to format the USB drive within Diskpart to get it to be Fat32 format do the Diskpart commands before running the Windows 7 DVD/USB Tool.
1. Ensure the registry key "HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\ISO Backup Tool" is created.
2. Create a new DWORD value named "DisableFormat" in this location and set the value to 1.
Found how to disable the formatting feature in the tool.
Window7 DVD/USB tool does not work. Tryed fixes and still got no where. Yes I run the dispart commands before I put the iso on the usb
Also just tryed it AGAIN and exacly like you said you and still got there error. I even re done the boot usb disc. Why is my damn computer being annoying. Irs only a konth and bit old
Can't we just disable the whole UEFI thing and just install Windows ? Before you had issues did you create recovery discs ?
Backup your Data to Ex HDD, & make the ASUS USB Pen Drive Recovery.
Before you start make your Recovery disk.
Disable Boot Booster in BIOS setup before you perform system recovery from USB flash disk, external optical drive or hidden partition.
1. Press <F9> during bootup.
Ensure to press <F9> only once during bootup.
2. Select the language you use and click to continue.
3. Repeat the step 1—2 in the previous section.
4. Connect a USB storage device to your PC and click Backup in the Recovery System dialog box to start the recovery files backup.
The size of the connected USB storage device should be larger than 16GB.
Memory cards are not supported for this function.
A dialog box appears as a reminder if you have not connected the USB storage device for system recovery backup to your PC.
5. Select a desired USB storage device if more than one USB storage device is connected to your PC and click Continue.
6. All the data on the selected USB storage device will be cleared. Click Continue to start the backup or click Back to backup your important data.
You will lose all your data on the selected USB storage device. Ensure to back up your important data beforehand
7. The system backup starts and click OK when done.
No cant disable it. The UEFI is basically the BIOS...
Dont have an optical drive so cant make disks.
As I said in the first post. Been trying to do a clean Re-install of windows to get rid of factory Bloatware.
Thank Theog. I will get hold of a big external hard drive asap then I can do a back up. Then I will clean my OS drive at the install now screen using diskpart. I will have a look and set to default and see it it helps
You could disable the UEFI . Get an external hard drive . Then you could wipe the laptop hard drive to have 1 partition .
