    Folder C:\PostVistaPE in W7 premium

...Hello to everybody. (Hopefully is the right place for my question)
    ...In a Dell xpsl702x W7 premiumx64 system, after a recovery to factory ....(I suppose, 90% sure..), there is a file "C:\PostVistaPE".
..I wanted to know, if someone understands, what it means to have such a folder in W7.
Inside there are boot files like BCD and bootmgr boot.wim, ntldr etc...
The reason I'm asking is what I'll face in the case and when I'll need to activate windows.
e.g. Is that means that I don't have clear, W7? and that they did in factory or in the shop a kind of upgrade from Vista?
..And if they did so, will I face any poblems to activate with my coa key?
    Thank you for your time.

Dell's are pre-activated. You shouldn't have any problems with that. You may want to leave that folder as is and not delete it.

Dell has a very good users helping users forum, posting on there should get you exact information on that folder and if its needed.

As stated there is no reason to activate Factory Recovery, or Clean Reinstall using the Dell Reinstallation DVD.

If you used another installer to Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 then it might have had some undesireables added in, so I'd redo it using your Dell Reinstallation DVD or the latest official Win7 installer w/SP1 in Step 1 of tutorial.

    ....Thanks fireberd for reply.
..Of course I'm not going to delete it and I know W7 are pre-activated.
..I'm just afraid what will be after the clean install I'm going to do...(an old story...)
I didn't want to "bother" in Dell's forum, because they already help me for bios
..and drivers issues....I didn't want to brake their nervus with more questions...
...Anyway I thank you for your interest about my question.

...Hi gregrocker. I'm happy to see you again.
I just said that I believe this folder came after the factory recovering I did before one month.
Now (if you remember) I'm prepering for a clean install (as your tutorial show).
I have not understand what you suggest because I'm going to use W7 made from the iso from digital life.
So you say I'll get problems? Can you explain it better because I don't speak well english.
...Did you mean I'll get problems with activation?
All this time from our last contact I just clear up issues with bios upgrades, drivers etc.
Like I told you before 10 days I have time to prepere everything to be perfect.
Thank you so much for time.

Just follow the steps in Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 and ask back any questions if you have them first.

The question is not clear. If you have Win7 Upgrade version then you can Clean Install with an Upgrade version if you have a copy of Vista or XP which came with that PC or a retail copy of either OS.

You must have a Product Key for Win7 and cannot use the same product key that comes with Vista.

Where did you get Win7? Is it Full or Upgrade version?
