Compatibility report when installing Win7 on Ubunto OS laptop

Pretty much what the Tittle said. I have a Toshiba Satellite L300-16L Laptop with 3GB ram upgraded, it was originally running Win Vista then i upgraded it to Ubuntu 12.10 but my mum though that windows is more suitable for her so she asked me to replace Ubuntu with Win 7. So during the installation of win 7 i chose to "upgrade now" and i was brought to the compatibility page saying ""This computer started using the installation disc. Remove the disc and start Windows normally, then insert the disc and continue the upgrade" and could not carry on the installation. i did some research and found few forum thread such as "this". I followed some solutions that poeple posted on the thread (uninstalling drivers and 3rd party programs) but still to no avail. please help me.

I appreciate any guidance you can give me.

If you need any more information, please just ask.

    Thanks so much,
    -NG

You are supposed to choose the 'Custom' option and NOT 'Upgrade' during installation. Upgrade option works when you need to upgrade an older version of Windows such as Vista from within Windows.

    Hope this helps.

I did the other option last night which is 'custom' but it would not let me select the partitions.

All Linux code must be deleted using the CLEAN ALL command. As you have had linux on the HD you need do a Clean all.

Clean the HD Drive, using Step one in this tutorial:

What's the actual problem/error you are facing? Did you try selecting the required partition and deleting it? And then proceeding with the installation?
