How do I start up from a Usb thumb drive?

Hi, I am completely new to the Bios/setup, and I am trying to boot up from a thumb drive using an Gigabyte E-350 (usb 2.0 v) motherboard.

I've held the delete key and gone to the advanced section and set the first bootable device to USB-HDD. I have put the thumb drive into one of the usb sockets, but no luck so far. Just keep getting "Loading Operating System ..."

    Thanks in advance :)

Write the latest official ISO with SP1 for your licensed version to stick using UltraISO Software To Create Bootable USB Flash Drive which always works when others don't.

If it wont' boot, change HD to boot first in BIOS, trigger stick using one-time BIOS Boot menu key given on first screen.

If you have an EFI mobo (check in BIOS) you'll need to install in UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) - Install Windows 7 with - Windows 7 Forums with an UEFI Bootable USB Flash Drive - Create in Windows .

If you don't want UEFI after watching this video to understand it better: Technical Note: UEFI BIOS vs. Legacy BIOS - YouTube then you can Bypass UEFI to Install WIn7

Hi, Sorry I should of explained a bit better. The key I'm trying to boot up from is a Linux based open source operating system called freeNas. Does this mean I still need ultraISO for this?

    Thanks
