Asked me to put in a disk with the drivers

I used this disk to do a clean install on my computer, got as far as selecting the custom installation and couldn't find a hard drive. Asked me to put in a disk with the drivers on it. Don't have one. Canceled the install and rebooted the computer. Went to CP...Device Manager and the hard drive list four files as drivers. Am able to browse the hard drive. What now? Still want to do the clean install.

My guess is it's looking for the SATA (AHCI) driver. If you can find that driver on the manufacturers web site, unzip it if need be, and put it on a USB thumb drive. Then point windows to it during the install. A workaround is to switch it to IDE mode in the BIOS. Then switch it back to AHCI after Windows is installed. AHCI : Enable in Windows 7 / Vista .

Let us know if the SATA driver helps because the prompt for drivers during booted install is almost always a bad installer.

Use the latest from Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 and let us know how it works. Delete all partitions for reinstall.

If it fails try wiping the HD first from Repair My Computer link on second screen, use Command Line to run Diskpart Clean Command

I chanhged the drive to IDE in the BIOS. That did the trick. Was then able to use other utilities to wipe disk and then continued with Clean Install.
    Problem solved.
